Madhya Pradesh Isai Mahasangh

The Church has been engaging itself in promoting ecumenism since many decades. This led to formation of many ecumenical forums at different levels to help the community grow together. Among them, the Commission for Ecumenism and Dialogue and the Regional Public Relations Office of the Catholic Church are playing  a vital role in this connection.

After a series of deliberations Christian leaders with the blessings from archbishop Dr. Leo Cornelio and Bishop Dr. Sebastian Vadakel decided to launch the Christian Federation of Madhya Pradesh Isai Mahasangh. Thus, the Isai Mahasangh, Madhya Pradesh was finally formed on April 19, 2008 to prepare the Church to face the challenges in the days to come.

This is the unified public face of the Church with active participation of laities and religious from all denominations in the state of Madhya Pradesh where hostility towards the Christians is on the rise.

Isai Mahasangh, Madhya Pradesh is a federation of various Christian Forums at different levels in the state. The federation respects the independent position of these forums and shall not interfere with their working. The role of the Federation is to facilitate them to work more effectively, help identify efficient Christian leaders, train them and help them to get into public life. Isai Maha Sangh has also initiated steps to begin the organization in the state of  Delhi, Maharastra and Punjab.
